About us

Who We Are

What are we giving up in exchange for convenience? What impact does technology really have on us? How can we protect ourselves and our loved ones online?

We’re a group of cyber security and data privacy experts, technologists, activists and community leaders, storytellers, creators, and artists.

We came together asking these questions. We are concerned, but for us, this concern isn’t new.

As women, as black, indigenous, people of color, as first-generation immigrants, we know what it's like to live in a society where imbalances of power negatively impact us.

Although this is our lived experience, it doesn’t have to be.

No single person, organization, industry, sector, law, article, or book can empower 5.3 billion internet users and counting. It takes more than one person; more than one community. It takes a Collective.

That's why Cyber Collective exists.

OUR APPROACH

How We Do It

We publish trendy and trustworthy content so that critical topics rise to the top of the algorithms. All of our content translates expert research into easy-to-understand resources that center the voices of everyday users.

We provide space for conversations, encouraging people to reflect on their lived experiences with technology. We prioritize emotional safety and open dialogue to break down barriers around complex topics to spark critical thinking and understanding.

We connect people, communities, and industries, inspiring collaboration and participation in better solutions. We empower internet users to be digitally vigilant and bring research-backed information/takeaways to their own communities. We elevate Cyber Collective community members into leaders, demanding better outcomes for their communities and designing solutions.
